PASSION WEEK: DAY 6 – GOOD FRIDAY – THE CRUCIFIXION.

LOCATION: ROAD TO GOLGOTHA

TIME: SOME MINUTES TO 9:00

The Roman soldiers led Jesus away to Golgotha to crucify Him.

Golgotha is the hill of execution located outside the city walls of Jerusalem.

Jesus was forced to carry his own cross. However, on the way, one Simon of Cyrene, a random man coming in from the countryside was grabbed and forced by the Roman soldiers to carry the cross of the exhausted convicted prisoner – Jesus’ cross to Golgotha.

LOCATION: ARRIVAL AT GOLGOTHA

TIME: SOME MINUTES TO 9:00

Just before His crucifixion, Jesus was offered Wine drugged with bitter narcotics (Myrrh/Gall) –apparently to numb the pain, but He rejected it.

LOCATION: AT GOLGOTHA

TIME: AT 9:00

At 9:00 am, Jesus was crucified.

His “charges” were displayed and fastened above His Head: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews”. What a crime!

Of course, the religious leaders were not happy. Two other criminals were executed that morning.

He lasted only 6hours on the cross, and then He died.

Watch out for the Famous last 7 Words of Jesus.
