Crucifixion and Resurrection, Devotional

PASSION WEEK : DAY 5 – THURSDAY Part 3 of 4. FINAL WALK.

In John 14:31, Jesus made a statement that changed history: “But I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let’s be going.” NLT.

The dinner was over, and Jesus and his disciples left Jerusalem and returned to Mt Olives – to Gethsemane.

And as they were on the way to Gethsemane, in John 15, 16 and 17, Jesus began to give them extremely important parting words.

Jesus reminded them that He’s the True Vine, having told them earlier at the dinner that he was the Way, the Truth and the Life.

He instructed them to abide in Him and in His Love.

He informed them that they would experience persecutions.

He then dwelt extensively on the ministry of the Holy Spirit – John chapter 16.

He also told them that they should start praying in the name of Jesus: “You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive” John 16:24 NLT.

And in John chapter 17, Jesus interceded for the Church – which would soon be born.

It’s time up, almost, for Jesus. Watch this space.
